The SSL bulbs can come in a variety of colors including shades of red, blue or green, are low voltage and use less wattage than traditional lights. There are three components of design to take into consideration when you are looking to include LED Underwater lighting into your homes landscape. First of all is depth, it is suggested that submersible fixtures be placed no more than 4 feet from the surface, due to distortion of the beam spread. Secondly, is the clarity of the water, if the water tends to not be very clear than use a higher wattage fixture. Lastly, is movement. If there is a lot of movement then this will disrupt and possibly increase the beam spread as the top of the water acts like a lens. If the area contains a fountain then place the LED Underwater Lights as close as possible to the spouting water this will enable the water to be lit all the while being concealed.
