This building had been built in the 1970’s, and the original fixtures had long since become antiquated.  These office recessed lights were engineered with inefficient incandescent bulb technology and were used throughout the building.  They were still operating, but producing a very poor distribution of light.  The interior entrance, lobby, and stairwell in particular were all inadequately lit due to lamp deterioration and energy inefficiency.

The Building Owner Requested that we stay Within a Specific Budgetary Range.
We had to develop a lighting system for the building that would eliminate shadows in all areas of its interior without over purchasing too many lighting fixtures that would exceed the client’s budget.  This limitation was not such an insurmountable barrier as one might have expected it to be.  Using advanced 3-D rendering software, we were able to model the building interior and input various types of commercial office lighting fixtures at varying wattages to see what outcomes would look like in advance.  We presented the client with several options, each producing the desired levels of luminance with differing numbers and positioning of interior building lights. 

After examining the renderings we provided, the client chose the one most suitable to his objectives and budget. 
Our new Interior Building Lighting System did two very important things that at face value would appear to be difficult to accomplish together.  It lowered energy consumption and increased luminance levels.  The key do accomplishing both at the same time lay in our choice of Liton fluorescent interior down lights that produced exceptional color rendering and operated with at a very high level of energy efficiency.   There was an intrinsic return on investment build into this new interior building lighting system in the form of energy cost reduction.  The new fluorescents were much better at producing more light with less power than their outdated predecessors, and upon installation, they began immediately saving the owner money on power costs.

A secondary benefit this brought to the client was an overall improvement in the aesthetic of interior architecture.  These interior building lights were housed in very decorative fixtures that provided an excellent compliment to ceilings and walls.  The color rendering capabilities of these lamps was also superb, making it not only brighter, but much more closely equivalent to daylight coloration than the diminishing incandescents were producing.  

The Client was so impressed that he asked us to Light his Hallways as well.
Since the hallways had also been originally lit same incandescent down lights we had just replaced in the front interior of the building, they needed new fixtures as well.  Because we were able to stay within the budget requested by the owner, he decided to invest a little more by having his contractor install energy efficient commercial fluorescents in all building hallways.  This has resulted in a new, more modern office environment throughout the entirety of the building.
